Anyone, musician or not, can write their own chants. This workshop will show you the basic mechanics of writing chants for ritual or meditation. You will come away with a chant of your very own and one that was written by the group. Come prepared with a cell phone and pen/paper.

Ninety percent of people will experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. It is likely that one-third of US adults have experienced religious trauma at some point in their lifetime. People seek out spiritual community for connection, safety, and support. Instead, many have traumatic experiences that have lasting impacts on their well-being. This presentation will examine the prevalence of trauma and the ways that it shows up in modern polytheist communities. It will include guidance on how to create trauma-conscious devotional practices, rituals, and community spaces.

Found only in Vedic astrology, the Lunar Mansions, or “Nakshatras,” are an older zodiac of 27 sections of sky — one for each day in a lunar month — that run “behind” the 12 Sun signs you already know. Each one has a myth, a symbol, and a God associated with it: depending on which Nakshatra your Moon lands in, these three things give you clues to master the dilemmas of your life. The Mansions are also more important than Sun signs in determining relationship compatibility between partners, and they determine longer-term planetary cycles, or Dasas. If the horoscope tells you what karmas are inherent in a chart, the Dasas tell you when those karmas will activate.
