Sekhmet is not just a destroyer but also a healer, a mother, a guardian, and a guide. Upon entering, the participants will receive one of Sekhmet’s many names. We will cast a circle, then each participant will call Sekhmet by one of Her many names to join us. After She is with us, we journey into the desert, to her temple that exists within our hearts. We will have the opportunity to surrender ourselves to Her and she will take her mighty claws and slice our hearts open and remove that which no longer serves. Once “purified” by Her, we will continue our journey to the inner sanctum of Her temple and have an audience with Her. Then return to ritual space. 

Sun worship is perhaps one of the oldest forms of ritual magic. From the hymns of the Vedas to the Temples of Ancient Egypt to the Sun cult of Mithras, mages have always called upon the Sun for clarity, vitality, and ultimately divine awakening. In this workshop, Merlin will show you how to work with the Sun as the ancient astrologers and magicians did. Drawing on ancient source texts, he’ll discuss how the Sun was worshiped within ancient Mediterranean mysticism, and its place in our cosmos as a vehicle for ascension into the heavens. You will also receive guidance for examining the Sun in your own natal chart. We will close with a group ceremony to this lord of light and life.

Literary and archaeological evidence suggests that Heathens in the pre-Christian era understood themselves and their world in ways quite different from that of most modern Westerners. Specifically, the boundaries between many categories – male and female, human and nonhuman, body and mind, self and not-self – were perceived as far more fluid and porous than is the case in mainstream Western thought. Drawing on both historical evidence and modern anthropology, this class will explore this approach to understanding personal identity and its implications for ritual and magical practice.

This workshop, led by three active, published, and magical writers offers three approaches to bringing your magical and writing life into deeper conversation. The power of the word is indisputable and indisputably magic. In light of this power, many cultures viewed poets as prophets and poetry as the voice of the Gods. This workshop delves into the ways that magic, the magical life, and writing entwine. Magical Writer One: We all know that witches write spells, but a witch who writes can weave magic with their very words. As a professional scientific writer by day, and a creative writer by night, this presenter will discuss the immense power and responsibility that we have as witches when we put our words – any words – to paper. Magical Writer Two: This speaker is an educator who finds solace in writing historical fantasy seeped in mythology and folklore. The presenter will talk about the connection between writing and the divine, including potential techniques for linking writing and spiritual practices, and experiences with writing deities as fictional characters. Magical writer Three: Professor of public rhetoric by day and magical writer by night, this presenter will call forward the poet-seers – an ancient, pan-European oracular lineage. Then, sharing a cut up technique, this speaker will demonstrate how to use found texts to develop new/divined ritual workings and to dispel writer’s block. We end with a meditation.

Every moment of every day, we have a choice. How often do we recognize this ability and power? In this experiential workshop we will first discuss choice as a magical act, an act of willingness, and will. We will then confront a choice currently active in our lives. We will walk the blade between yes and no. We will balance on the tip of both/and. We will stand on the pommel and gaze down the shimmering tool, forged in fire and quenched in liquid. We will draw the blade into ourselves, to strengthen our ability to live upright and with honor in this world.

The New Monasticism movement is an interspiritual movement to deepen the spiritual life and align with the emergence of a new cosmology that meets the challenges and needs of modern humans. In this workshop, we will explore the history of monasticism, the birth of the New Monasticism Movement, and the crooked path of pagan monastic practice. Participants will engage in group prayer practice and explore examples of simple daily rituals to carry back out into their lives.

In magical communities today discussions surrounding “The Fae” can easily turn into heated discourse. During this workshop we will examine not only the traditional Fairy beliefs native to the Celtic nation that is Wales, but we will also explore the intersection between such beliefs and operative forms of magic. In Welsh tradition, the line between ‘fairy’ and ‘familiar spirit’ is sometimes blurred, and so what role should fairies play in our magical practices today? 

Healing plants have a long history throughout Mesoamerica. In this curanderismo ceremony, we will create sacred space, build a group altar, select a traditional plant ally, and go on a trance journey to empower our inner healer. Each participant’s experience will be unique through the sounds, imagery, sensations, feelings, and connections with your sacred plant ally and your own individual spirit guides. This class will present some of the 76 spells that were written down as part of the witch trial court records in the 15th through the 18th centuries. The circumstances of the trials, what we know about the players, and how they practiced witchcraft will be the core of the class. Interesting historical facts will round out the picture. Most importantly, we will explore how to replicate these spells in the 21st century.

This class will take a brief look at the life of Austin Spare and a much closer look at his blending of art and magic, culminating in an exploration of The Alphabet of Desire as a practical method of both divination and enchantment using the world around the practitioner with no tools or rituals necessary beyond force of will and imagination. The class with learn about how Spare’s life influenced his philosophies, how those philosophies grew into the development of sigils, and how that eventually became his work on the Alphabet as a mystic “internal language” unique to each of us that creates the subconscious system of symbols we respond to in dreams, tarot cards, and even ritual performance.

What role does applied magical practice have on the modern battlefield?  Join WR Neumann where he discusses the magical techniques that he has used during his thirty year military career to enable mission team successes.  This workshop will discuss techniques from mental influence, divination, camouflage and cloaking, and “pushing probability”.

During this workshop, explore the profound practice of veneration art, a creative and spiritual practice that connects you with your ancestors, deities, and spiritual guides. Participants will learn how art can hold great symbolism and intentions, discover grounding techniques, how to set intentional, ritual space for creating, explore personal correspondences and visual language, and create a unique art piece to add to your veneration space. No prior experience necessary. After general instruction is covered, meditative space will be opened. After the meditative space is closed, participants will be invited to share their observations of the experience. All supplies will be provided to complete a 10”x10” acrylic painting. Bring an open heart and a sense of curiosity, and plan to wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.

When a person takes on the role of teacher, they take on the potential for having a profound impact on their students. When the teaching is of a spiritual or metaphysical nature, the karmic and ethical considerations become more complicated and far-reaching. The Thirteen Planes describe varying levels of human consciousness as they interact with the world. By aligning ourselves to each of these planes we can learn to perceive the spirits there and can enhance our psychic and spiritual abilities. We will use this traditional teaching of Faery witchcraft to traverse the planes, one by one, in order to better align ourselves to our highest nature, and also to plumb the depths of our own shadows.
