Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT

Desecrated Sacred: Reclaiming Abandoned Spaces in Our Communities and Ourselves
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
As we strive to unpack the shadows of our culture, one that persists in pagan communities is a purity ethos that holds wild places–grottos, groves, and other ‘untouched’ places– as more sacred than humanized ones, and replicates dominant culture patterns of simultaneously devaluing and worshiping the foreign or distant Other. In this time of upheaval and consumerism, there is a counter call: in guerrilla gardening and reclaiming of the commons, to upcycling, and graffiti arts. The “negative” spaces of abandoned buildings, irradiated landscapes and other edge spaces offer a possibility for generational healing: how can we reclaim as sacred that which we have abandoned, trashed, or poisoned in ourselves and the places we belong?

Heathenry as a Magical Practice
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
Heathenry has long been accused of lacking magic. Many Heathens themselves will say “We don’t do magic.” This class will argue against those claims and set a framework for a rich magical practice based in Norse Paganism. This class will pull examples of Heathen Magic from the historical record, examine those examples and walk through ways to incorporate them into a daily practice that can be as magical as the practitioner chooses. We will start with the existing medieval sources, move on through history and look at post medieval Icelandic practices, and then modern practices that fit into our Heathen context.

Liberating Spirituality
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
If there is one trend manifesting in spirituality worldwide, it is the rise of authoritarian, high control religious groups. Less noticed, but just as vital, are the growing currents of those who call for justice and shared liberation. In “Liberating Theology”, you will learn what the core ideas are behind this movement and how they align with broader Pagan, Witch, and Heathen values. In this class, you will engage with these questions through general and small group discussions with your fellow participants. Together, we will explore the roots of liberated spirituality, how it can empower practitioners, and become the foundation for creating truly free and safe communities.

Sacred Spaces and Divine Faces for Modern Life
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
Magical books and teachers present us with the lore of naturally sacred spaces: the Crossroads, the Seashore, the Cemetery, the Clearing in the Grove…these types of places are recognizable to most magicians, Pagans, and NeoPagans as places of power. But what about airports? Train stations? Street lamps? What modern spaces hold natural characteristics which give them an affinity with magic and how can they fit into our sacred and magical experiences? Just as there are places that didn’t exist when most concepts of magic were developing, the world is full of new technologies and experiences as well. How do we explore their divine and spiritual components to understand what powers rule over things like cars and computers? In this class we will explore the magic of the modern and learn how to explore traditional associations so we can build new ones.

The History, Magick and Application of The Four Holy Creatures
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
The Four Holy Creatures in diverse expressions are rooted in traditions from Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, and Persia. They bear the Divine Chariot described by Ezekiel in the Tanakh. As a part of the Western Mysteries, they hold a strong presence in Hermetic Magick. These Four Beings are found in the Tree of Life. A working knowledge of them provides nuanced doorways into a greater mystery. We meet them in numerous arenas including the constellations, alchemy, tarot, the Sphinx, the cardinal directions, and the elements. These are Celestial Powers, a bridge between the unmanifest and manifest. This class will provide you with a greater understanding of who they are and how to utilize them in your work.

The Seven Temples: The Liminal Space of Awakening Your Magick
Thursday March 27, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
Our magick is informed by experience, practice and the ability to integrate and use what is accumulated within our energetic and mundane bodies, and states of consciousness. There are many ways in which we are called to grow and evolve in our magick and spiritual nature, yet we often overlook the innate sacred temple of our being, the Temple of Self. Within this temple reside seven streams of magick and power that are the temples of our awakening and re-membering. These seven temples hold the power of our energetic anatomy, our connections to the cosmic realms, our psyche, and more. Actively awakening them requires that we cross the boundaries of what we believe to be true of ourselves and the relationship we have with the magick and power that is ours to claim. Topics will include: The Four Holy Creatures, our energetic anatomy, the alchemical elements, the fifth elementals, and more. This class will be highly experiential. If you have an amulet, crystal or other small object that you wish to empower, please bring it with you.

The Selkie, the Seal, and the Sea
Thursday March 27, 2025 7:30pm - 9:00pm EDT
Stand on the cliff tops above a seal colony and listen. The seal voices drifting up on the winds sound much like the cries of people. It is, thus, easy to understand how myths of seals transforming into humans arose in so many northern cultures, ancient and modern. Seals, found on every continent of our planet, spend most of their lives at sea, sharing the same waters as fishing boats, competing for the same catch. Hunter, and hunted. This will be an experiential workshop – with story-telling, trancework and conversation around how we can be in better relationship with these gorgeous creatures. In a former life, Raven was a seal-behaviouralist, and seals are beloved to them.

Transforming Metals to Magical Weapons/Tools
Thursday March 27, 2025 7:30pm - 9:00pm EDT
Weapons are not always “sharp pointy things”. Simple, common metal items can become magical weapons as well. We will discuss some magical metal weapons and the gear that is found in various parts of the Irish Lore and mythology. From there, we will talk about ideas, concepts, and applications that can be used today in our magical working. We will talk about the properties of several common metals like copper, brass, and the differences between iron and steel.  We’ll discuss how to be intentional in our work for future use and will brainstorm ideas on how to be creative by adding those things to our magical toolbox. We will explore examples of creating magical tools from everyday, easy to get items. Now is the time to expand your magical toolbox with shiny stuff. If you use any metal in your practice, or want to, this workshop is for you!

Goetia for Beginners – Conjuring the Demon Shax
Thursday March 27, 2025 9:15pm - 10:45pm EDT
Following a brief lecture on Goetia, including its history, theory, and modern practice, I will teach you how to conjure the demon Shax, about whom the Lesser Key of Solomon says “Shax is thought to be faithful and obedient, but is a great liar and will deceive the conjurer unless obliged to enter a magic triangle drawn on the floor. He will then speak marvellously and tell the truth. He knows when lies are told and uses these to teach lessons.” Together, we will oblige him to enter into a triangle, and then request him to teach us further magic. This ritual is safe, easy, and fun. There will be no explicit sexual or violent content, although demons sometimes get a little spicy, and I cannot entirely control what Shax will say. Please do not come to class intoxicated or otherwise out of your right mind.

Thursday March 27, 2025 9:15pm - 10:45pm EDT
The creation of humanoid figures is an act with origins which predates recorded history. Such work aligns us with the art of the gods as conjured by humanity’s earliest imagining, and creates both a conduit for power and an anchor for spirit. In this discussion we will explore the use of the dolls and effigies in various magical traditions throughout history, as well as examine practical ways that we may meaningfully incorporate them into a contemporary practice based upon sound methodology and tradition. We will then explore the deeper realms of this art by discussing techniques and approaches towards employing effigies as spirit houses and devotional objects. And finally, we will conclude by discussing the various materials and methods we might use for the construction of effigies, as well as methods for consecration and enlivening them for magical purposes.
